The Forest and Saami Museum
Gammplatsen
Gammplatsen is beautifully situated on a peninsula in the Ume River. It used to be a gathering place for Sami, settlers and traders. Church weekends were celebrated here several times a year and markets and parliaments were held. Actors at Gammplatsen today are the Forest and Saami Museum, Lycksele Hembygdsgille and Lycksele Sameförening.
